Grace Landscapes, assisted by children from Newlands Primary School in Morley, supplied and planted Betula Jacquemontii trees in conjunction with the White Rose Shopping Centre for World Environment Day.
John White, Operations Manager of the prestigious shopping centre, took the opportunity of the commemorative day to replace trees lost on the site to the ravages of winter.
The children helped Matthew Sleight, Ben Grouse, Nathan Crossland, Luke Britton and Ian Fearnley to plant the trees in prominent positions around the site.
On the strength of this exercise, the school has purchased two similar trees to enhance their grounds and which, with the knowledge gained, the children planted themselves.
