Hardwick Hall Country ParkHardwick Hall Restoration

Hardwick Hall Park is a National Lottery funded restoration project being carried out by Durham County Council to which Grace Landscapes have been contracted to carry out the soft landscaping. The landscaping began in 2006 and the final planting was completed in July 2009. The landscaping has been restored following comprehensive research to ensure that the design and planting is in keeping with the original 18th Century design. The scheme is focused around ‘The Circuit Walk’, a one mile walk set around two artificial lakes. Many classical buildings are found on this walk and the planting has been installed so as to create ‘frames’ for each of these classical buildings and surrounding vistas.

Grace Landscapes continues to maintain the site and has enjoyed seeing the early planting mature and the many visitors enjoying the spaces created.
